Abstract

Many of us would subscribe to the adage, ‘If it’s not broken don’t fix it’. However, there are many of us who also live with the nagging doubt, suspicion and fear that ‘it’ is not performing as well as it might or, indeed, maximizing its full potential. Thus, we conclude that ‘it’ needs fixing in some way. The ‘it’ referred to in this context is, of course, business success and effectiveness. In particular, the concern is for the health and performance of the organization. Therefore, this book addresses the ways in which we can maximize performance and health in the workplace by using an integrated, organizational strategy for the management of stress. It differs from other traditional stress management books in three main ways.
