Abstract

Over the past 20 years, China’s economic reform movement has made a great deal of progress and been widely praised around the world. Human resource development (HRD) has marked the most significant changes since the founding of the People’s Republic of China in 1949. The Chinese have realized that human resources are a main contributing factor in the creation of material wealth, exploitation of natural resources, and enhancement of social reforms. Human resource development has promoted the development of society and economy. Benefits include growth of the macro-economy, enhancement of education and improvement of the environment and social moral standards. As investment in HRD has grown, the market has been enriched and the standard of living has improved.
