Abstract

The use of computers in business and industry dates back to the early 1950s. However, in spite of fifty years of practice, few companies have found a good solution to controlling costs related to information technology (IT), while improving the accuracy, timeliness and quality of IT deliverables. The technology and its tools are available to everybody. What is lacking is the ability (even, sometimes, the willingness) to use technological breakthroughs and make them blossom.
