Abstract

The office was to be computerized; computers were delivered but, for the time being, they were stored in the cellar. Soon afterwards, some water pipes burst, the cellar flooded and the computers were destroyed. Initially, the event was regarded as an accident, but soon a rumour spread that one of the employees had consciously sabotaged the pipes in order to obstruct computerization. It did not take long before a certain employee, a woman, was singled out as the culprit. The managers and the employees were all convinced of this.
