Abstract

The phenomenal growth of Indian companies in the last two decades or so has been watched with awe by observers all over the world. This chapter puts together the general patterns of growth among Indian companies during the different development phases of the country. In addition to the observations in this chapter, the detailed case studies of three representative business houses of India, viz. Birla, Tata and Reliance, in the book explain the overall dynamics of the explosive growth of Indian companies.
