Abstract

When Palgrave approached us with the proposal of editing the Handbook of International Trade targeted at the beginning postgraduate student, their rationale was the existence of a market niche supporting the teaching of the economics of international trade at either the masters or beginning doctoral level. Existing handbooks and surveys in international trade were primarily aimed at a research-oriented readership. When we contacted potential contributors we were encouraged by their willingness to join us in this endeavour. We are now delighted to introduce the finished product to teachers and students.
