Abstract

Up to this point in the process designers have deliberately avoided evaluation. They have been concerned mainly with divergent thinking as their goal has been to be creative and to generate and explore as many different ideas as possible. At some point in the process, however, it becomes necessary to move from divergent to convergent thinking as they start refining solutions, limiting options, making decisions, and reaching conclusions.
