Abstract

Power engineering is a complex of processes and devices for the extraction (production), transportation, transformation and utilisation of primary energy sources and final energy carriers. Organisationally, Soviet power engineering comprises: oil extracting and oil refining, gas, coal, peat and combustible shales industries, electro-, thermal, nuclear energetics which together form one of the major production complexes (energy-fuel) and an important structural element of the Soviet national economy.
