Abstract

The expansion of the Social Insurance sectors of most Western industrialized countries has taken place at a considerable pace over the last twenty years. The accompanying economic literature has dealt, among other topics, with the incentive effects of Social Insurance, i.e. Social Security, Health Insurance and Unemployment Insurance, on factor supply.
