The Efficiency of Competition and Planning

Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to make some comments on the merits of competition and planning for achieving efficiency in developed industrial economies. One issue will be competition versus non-competition (monopoly), a second will be competition versus planning. In fact, however, the two issues are closely interconnected.
