Abstract

One of the outstanding events of recent times is the establishment of more than a dozen new socialist states, which emerged, after the collapse of fascism in the Second World War, as the echo in eastern Europe and Asia of the October Socialist Revolution in Russia. Together with the Soviet Union, they form a world socialist system, the characteristics of which must be considered in any attempt at solving the political, sociological, or economic problems of today.
