Abstract

This paper is an attempt to study the experience of Brazil in the field of immigration since 1924, and to bring up to date the analysis made by Ferenczi and Willcox.1 The first part contains factual information on migratory movements to Brazil; the second discusses the factors which have influenced this influx; and the third part is an attempt at an interpretation of these movements, so as to obtain some idea of possible trends during the coming years.
