Abstract

Friedman’s memoirs Two Lucky People 1998, written with his wife, Rose Friedman, are critically considered. It is noted that it is a very peculiar book being amongst other things, almost completely unintellectual and lacking in authorial reflection. It is noted that certain claims the Friedmans make about his character and motivations appear to be contradicted by the content of the book itself. Reactions to it are considered and it is noted that few seem to have taken much notice of what it says.
