Abstract

Keeping in view inadequacies and shortcomings during the Millennium Development Goals period, it is contended that both Bangladesh and India need to initiate a variety of measures to accelerate the process of growth with equity and sustainability. They must exhibit an eagerness to learn from the success stories of those countries excelling in these areas and having a higher ranking in Sustainable Development Index. One cannot ignore that all countries struggle to meet the goals on inequality, sustainable consumption, climate change, and ecosystems, while many developing countries face major difficulties in providing basic social services and infrastructure access to their populations. Bangladesh and India should collaborate to protect shared ecology as well as learn from each other’s strengths and weaknesses for equitable and sustainable development in the region.
