Creating the Model for Defining Finnish Investors in Russia

Abstract

The main objective of this study was to obtain useful background information, concerning Finnish-Russian investments, which can be used for further research and development of Finnish-Russian relations. The study was conducted using the Russian food and drink industry as an example. The results obtained are based on qualitative research: primary and secondary data collection. The primary data collection was made with the help of two structured and standardized interviews. The secondary data collection was processed with a help of desk studies. Among the findings obtained are the model for defining foreign current and potential investors, the list of Finnish current and potential investors in the Russian food and drink industry, as well as the preliminary research of the Finnish investors’ attitudes and expectations when investing in Russia.
