Abstract

This paper deals with non-financial reasons for the decline of small and medium-sized enterprises. The idea stems from contemplations of notable academicians and experts in Czech insolvency law who presume that the financial shortcoming leading to an enterprise bankruptcy is necessarily preceded by an abnormality in non-financial spheres. A research has been made in the region of South Moravia, Czech Republic, in order to verify the research hypotheses stated below. Receivers in bankruptcy, insolvency administrators as well as the owners of declining enterprises were direct subjects of the research. The paper offers a quick test of enterprise soundness in consideration of the identified hypotheses related to the particular enterprises and refers about possible outputs in order to assess an enterprise as to its un/soundness or defect immunity.
