Abstract

This chapter provides a context for the legal concept of the economic right in the copyright system. More importantly, it explains the location of the legal concept of the economic right in the copyright system and the legal relationship between the legal concept and the other four categories of the copyright system (the object of protection, rightholders, rights, and limits). The overview presented in this chapter located the legal concept of the economic right in the third category - rights that derive from the exploitation of the object of protection. Furthermore, the analysis of the legal relationship has been secluded within the EU legal order.
