Abstract

Regulation (EU) 2017/1129 of 14 June 2017 (Prospectus Regulation) aims at harmonising requirements for the drawing up, approval and distribution of the prospectus to be published when securities are (i) offered to the public or (ii) admitted to trading on a regulated market located or operating within a Member State. The Prospectus Regulation reinforces investor protection and market efficiency by ensuring that all prospectuses, wherever they are issued in the EU, provide them with clear, comprehensive, harmonised and therefore comparable information for allowing investors to make informed investment decisions.
