Abstract

This chapter draws on Hyman Minsky's work for the purposes of interpreting the Great Recession and challenging Minsky's marginalization by mainstream economists. It also builds on Minsky to shed light on the struggles of American workers and communities (such as Buffalo, New York) that have for decades undergone significant economic transformation and dislocation.
