Abstract

This chapter features an interview with Paula Caligiuri, a woman pioneer in the field of cross-cultural management (CCM) research. It delves into Paula Caligiuri’s biography, her motivations and aspirations for conducting CCM research, her career as well as her outlook on the future of CCM research. It also sheds light on Paula Caligiuri’s most important academic contributions to the field of CCM, which are her research on cultural agility, the personality predictors of expatriate success, as well as the nature and quality of international experiences. Through this exploration, a deeper understanding of the biographies, key concepts, and revolutionary paths of the women pioneers of CCM is fostered, and important interrelationships and implications of biography and research are revealed. Both researchers and practitioners will find it informative. The interview style of the chapter allows the pioneers to express their ideas in their own voice.
