Pro-poor growth in a multidimensional context

In: Research Handbook on Measuring Poverty and Deprivation

Abstract

This chapter shows how multidimensional stochastic dominance techniques can be used to test growth pro-poorness when poverty is assessed using the joint distribution of income and of non-income well-being attributes. Main issues with respect to this exercise are related to the definition of the benchmark scenario against which observed changes are compared.
