Abstract

Each of three constellations of ethical trade - social justice, sustainability and authenticity - are reviewed. We investigate the ethical foundations and complexities of each before asking how they have evolved, how they are manifested, contested and regulated in various ethical schemes, and how they might be moulded or manipulated throughout their respective value chains and networks.
