Abstract

In this chapter, we share four articles that exemplify how science, theory, and practice are integrated. The overarching purpose is to reinforce how the various stages of the building blocks of science approach ultimately manifest into more robust understanding of business. The first paper exemplifies how science (i.e., heterodox economics), theory (i.e., evolutionary theory of the firm), and practice (i.e., a living case exemplar) can be framed in a scholarly article that should resonate with student and practitioner scientists. The other three papers are practitioner papers that include references to theories and research. These are included to reinforce for emergent business scientists how looking to science and theory enriches their understanding and preparedness to make better decisions.
