Abstract

Industry 5.0 and Society 5.0 are requesting and requiring a framing in a co-evolution with Democracy 5.0. Could a Democracy 5.0 even develop faster than an Industry 5.0. The rationale here would argue that with a good set of governance and governance tools a democracy may stimulate and support the development of an industry (of the economy) from an Industry 4.0 to 5.0 status. But we also can expect here mutually overlapping effects of a cross-networking. Higher education institutions and higher education systems are playing here a crucial role. Their (internal and external) governance has the capability and capacity to promote knowledge and innovation that are so essential for the further development of Industry 5.0, Society 5.0 and Democracy 5.0.
