Prosecuting PEPs

Abstract

The successful prosecution of PEPs (and their subsequent inability to return to public office) followed by the forfeiture of their proceeds of crime is the ideal result. This chapter explores prosecutorial challengers in the African context. In practice, as the chapter highlights, there are numerous difficulties in achieving this outcome.
