Abstract

El capítulo describe la evolución tecnológica del Banco de la República de Colombia desde su fundación. Se destaca la importancia de las tecnologías de la información y las comunicaciones (TIC) para el funcionamiento eficiente del Banco. A continuación, se presentan algunos puntos clave: - En 1924, telégrafos y teléfonos para la comunicación - En la década de 1930, implementación de tabuladoras electromecánicas de IBM - En 1971, el primer computador electrónico - Durante la década de 1970, se define el área de tecnología y se crea la Subsecretaría de Organización y Sistemas. - El desarrollo de programas operativos para nómina, contabilidad y estadísticas, sistematización de los informes periódicos del Departamento de Investigaciones Económicas. - En 1981, área de Auditoría de Sistemas especializado en los sistemas del Banco.
