Abstract

El capítulo describe la creación y evolución de las sucursales del Banco de la República de Colombia. La Ley 25 de 1923 estableció el Banco como emisor y redescuento, y permitió la creación de sucursales en capitales de departamento y ciudades importantes. La ley también estableció reglas para el funcionamiento de las sucursales, incluyendo la designación de gerentes y juntas directivas. El capítulo destaca la importancia de las sucursales en la representación del Estado en las regiones y su papel en la implementación de políticas monetarias y crediticias.
