Abstract

El Banco de la República cumple tres funciones esenciales: emite dinero, es el banco de los bancos y actúa como agente fiscal del gobierno. A lo largo de su historia, ha desarrollado actividades adicionales, como la administración de las minas de sal y la compra de oro. El libro describe la evolución del Banco en áreas como la producción de dinero, los sistemas de pago, la investigación económica y la tecnología de la información. Temas clave en el libro 1.
