Abstract

La instauración del patrón oro en 1923 marcó el comienzo de una nueva estructura monetaria en Colombia. - Patrón de cambios oro restringido: La propuesta de Kemmerer consistió en un patrón de cambios oro restringido, que otorgaba responsabilidad a los bancos centrales para regular la moneda y el crédito. - Objetivos e instrumentos: El objetivo prioritario era preservar la estabilidad monetaria, y se utilizaron instrumentos como la tasa de redescuento para alcanzar este fin. - Desarrollo de la intermediación financiera: En el contexto de una economía en expansión, la intermediación financiera se desarrolló en una estructura que facilitó la agilización de los intercambios y la disminución de los costos de información y riesgos involucrados en la financiación externa directa.
