Abstract

Este capítulo analiza cómo el pensamiento de Kemmerer se integró en la institucionalidad financiera colombiana a través de la creación del Banco de la República en 1923. - Antecedentes: Se presentan los factores que llevaron a la necesidad de crear un banco nacional en Colombia. - Definición y funciones: Se discute la definición y las funciones originales del Banco de la República. - Banco de reserva: Se explica el papel del Banco de la República como banco de reserva. - Relaciones con el Gobierno: Se analizan las relaciones entre el Banco de la República y el Gobierno. - Organización del Emisor: Se precisan detalles sobre la organización del Banco de la República. - Relación con bancos privados: Se considera la relación entre el Banco de la República y los establecimientos bancarios privados.
