Abstract

En este capítulo se exponen los estudios que precedieron la fundación del Banco de la Republica y los motivos de su establecimiento; además de las líneas de organización y los factores de sus funciones esenciales; los atributos como Banco de Emisión; las operaciones permitidas y prohibidas; el alcance y las consecuencias del privilegio de emisión; como funcionan los redescuentos, su importancia y restricciones para su uso; la intervención del Banco para estabilizar el cambio exterior; las relaciones que lo ligan con el gobierno y los resultados obtenidos mediante el funcionamiento de la institución.
