Abstract

El texto analiza la relación entre el Banco de la República y el gobierno de Colombia en la emisión y circulación de monedas, especialmente el papel moneda. Se destaca la oposición del Banco a la emisión de monedas de plata sin garantía metálica y la falta de fondos para regularizar el cambio sobre el exterior. También se critica la emisión de papel moneda sin garantía metálica y su impacto negativo en la economía. Se enfatiza la importancia de la autonomía del Banco, la protección de sus reservas metálicas y la amortización del papel moneda para mantener la confianza en el billete nacional.
