Abstract

El capítulo analiza la composición de la junta directiva del Banco de la República de Colombia, destacando la necesidad de equilibrio entre los intereses del gobierno, bancos e industria. Se critica la elección de representantes comerciales y profesionales por arte de los bancos accionistas, lo que puede generar dependencia. Se sugiere que organizaciones de comerciantes y trabajadores elijan a estos representantes, como en Chile. También se analiza la representación de accionistas particulares y la necesidad de una norma clara para el caso de directores que terminen su periodo sin un sucesor designado.
