Abstract

Para el Banco de la República es motivo de orgullo poder presentar este primer volumen que hace parte de la conmemoración de los veinte años del Decreto-Ley 444 de 1967. También es deseo del Banco que el libro que hoy presenta a la comunidad contribuya a un mejor entendimiento de los aspectos de nuestro proceso económico. La expedición del Régimen de Cambios Internacionales y de Comercio Exterior en Colombia mediante la sanción por parte del presidente Lleras Restrepo del Decreto-Ley 444 del 22 de marzo de 1967 marcó un hito en la historia económica del país y la culminación de un proceso de búsqueda de un marco regulatorio que pusiera fin a los sobresaltos cambiarios experimentados por el país desde los años treinta.
