Abstract

Este capítulo muestra la posición del Fondo Monetario Internacional (FMI) en noviembre de 1966 a la luz de la carta enviada por el Gobierno colombiano en 1965. La violación al acuerdo de 1965 por parte del mismo Gobierno introduciendo el control de cambios y restricciones a las importaciones. Habiéndose basado en documentos relacionados con el FMI, este capítulo se centra en la explicación de los puntos centrales de la carta de 1965, también se examina la presentación que le hizo el gobierno al FMI del nuevo mercado de divisas creado por el Estatuto Cambiario. Además, este documento está dividido en cinco partes de la siguiente manera: La primera realiza un análisis a la carta de 1965. Las dos siguientes se centran en transcribir documentos del FMI, donde se comentan las medidas tomadas por el Gobierno colombiano. En la cuarta parte se edita un documento del Fondo. La quinta parte tiene un resumen hecho por el FMI del mercado cambiario del Decreto 444 de 1967.
