Abstract

El presente capítulo tiene un doble propósito: en primera medida, caracterizar el comportamiento del mercado laboral de Cartagena como resultado de la crisis causada por la pandemia del Covid-19 y las medidas gubernamentales para frenar la expansión del virus; y en segunda, identificar y analizar los principales efectos causados en la fuerza de trabajo. Para ello, se utilizan los microdatos de la Gran Encuesta Integrada de Hogares (geih) del dane y se estima un modelo binario tipo probit para identificar los factores asociados a la intensidad de las afectaciones. En la sección que sigue a esta introducción, se ofrece una breve revisión de la literatura sobre los efectos en el empleo en el contexto internacional y nacional; en la segunda, se explica la metodología del trabajo, en particular los datos y la estrategia empírica usada. En la tercera parte, se muestran los resultados; y, por último, se presentan las conclusiones.
