Abstract

Tras retirarse de la dirección del Deutsche Antioquia Bank, Sitarz supervisó la administración del Banco Nacional nicaragüense, por recomendación de Paul M. Warburg, desde 1930 hasta 1934. En 1935 se convirtió en director de la Amsinck, Sonne & Co., en Nueva York, que era controlada por la American Trading Co. No obstante, su interés en Colombia se mantuvo. En Cali era dueño de la farmacia de su hermano Franz, fallecido en el ínterin; además, compró acciones de la plantación de azúcar Ingenio Central del Tolima S. A., al igual que de Amsinck, Sonne & Co. Su compromiso financiero lo llevó a visitar dos veces más el país: a finales de 1942 y comienzos de 1943, y desde finales de agosto hasta mediados de octubre de 1944.
