Sofismas relativos a los impuestos

Abstract

Este capítulo se trata sobre algunos argumentos hechos por algunos economistas indicando que el impuesto obliga a la economía a manera de estimulante sobre la producción. A lo cual Mc Culloch ha observado que, sin las guerras en que se vio comprometida Inglaterra desde la revolución de 1688, no se hubiera creado la mayor parte de los capitales que se invirtieron en sostenerlas. En suma, según Mc Culloch, el aumento de los impuestos ejerce sobre una nación la misma poderosa influencia que sobre todo individuo ejerce el aumento de su familia y de sus gastos necesarios.
