Abstract

Se analiza la economía del departamento del Magdalena teniendo en cuenta el componente rural que involucra tanto la base económica como las características de la población. El departamento cuenta con una dotación de factores, la productividad de los suelos e infraestructura portuaria que lo hacen dinámico y competitivo. Sin embargo, el recurso menos abundante ha sido el capital humano, y los efectos de esto en términos de ingreso, pobreza y desigualdad para el departamento, se muestran en este trabajo.
