La economía del departamento de Córdoba : ganadería y minería como sectores clave

Abstract

En los primeros años del siglo XXI, el sector agropecuario sigue siendo el de mayor participación dentro del PIB del departamento de Córdoba, y la ganadería bovina la principal actividad económica. Desde la década de 1980 la minería se convirtió en la segunda actividad productiva del departamento, jalonada esencialmente por la explotación de los yacimientos de ferroníquel. En esta investigación se indaga sobre qué elementos han obstaculizado el desarrollo económico del departamento de Córdoba, se analiza la calidad de la tierra no sólo en función de la capa vegetal, sino también de los niveles de precipitación y recursos hídricos. Estos factores climáticos afectan la productividad agrícola, de igual manera, las deficiencias de la educación y el inadecuado manejo de las finanzas públicas territoriales también inciden negativamente en el escaso desarrollo departamental.
