Abstract

Las funciones dadas al Banco de la República desde la creación fueron las del manejo de la política monetaria, donde tenía que llevar excelentes relaciones con el Ministerio de Hacienda en búsqueda de la estabilidad monetaria y cambiaria. Además actuar como consejero del gobierno en la toma de decisiones, en el manejo económico del país, también como administrador de la deuda pública e investigador de la capacidad crediticia del sector bancario.||*Este capítulo se encuentra incluido en la IV parte del libro Historia del Banco de la República 60 años, titulada "Las funciones de Banca Central"
