Abstract

Reseña histórica de las funciones de los bancos centrales haciendo énfasis en el Banco de Inglaterra. El Banco de la República de Colombia a partir de la Ley 82 de 1931 tuvo amplias funciones en el campo monetario, crediticio y cambiario. Incluye también la descripción del sistema financiero con la creación de varias instituciones bancarias.||*Este capítulo se encuentra incluido en la IV parte del libro Historia del Banco de la República 60 años, titulada "Las funciones de Banca Central"
