Abstract

plssem2 fits partial least squares structural equation models (PLS-SEM), a variance-based, composite-based alternative to covariance-based structural equation modeling (CB-SEM, e.g., sem and gsem). The estimation follows the algorithm of Wold (1975) and Lohmöller (1989) as implemented in SmartPLS and in the Stata package plssem (Venturini and Mehmetoglu 2019), with the additions of blindfolding (Stone-Geisser Q2), HTMT discriminant validity (Henseler et al. 2015), bootstrap with bias-corrected and accelerated (BCa) confidence intervals (Efron 1987), higher-order constructs via the two-stage approach (Becker et al. 2012; Sarstedt et al. 2019), and multi-group analysis based on the permutation test (Henseler et al. 2016).
