Open Data und Open Source für nachhaltige Smart-City-Lösungen. Lagebeschreibung: Smarte Städte und digitale Regionen

Abstract

Die von WIK-Consult geführte Geschäftsstelle Stadt.Land.Digital gibt in der Lagebeschreibung einen Überblick über relevante und diskutierte Themen des ersten Halbjahrs 2023. Die Lagebeschreibung betrachtet den Stand offener Daten in Kommunen, den Einsatz von Open-Source-Software für skalierbare Innovationen und Potenziale von Long Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN). Die Metastudie wertet aktuelle Studien, Leitfäden und Veranstaltungen im ersten Halbjahr 2023 zum Thema smarte Städte und digitale Regionen aus. Eine erfolgreiche Skalierung digitaler Anwendungen erfordert, dass die Kommunalverwaltungen ihre Arbeitsweise öffnen. Offene Daten und Open-Source-Software unterstützen die Übertragbarkeit von Lösungen und fördern gleichzeitig Transparenz, Partizipation und Kooperation. Kommunen stellen zunehmend Offene Daten bereit. Jedoch gibt es noch viele Städte und Regionen, für die noch wenige Daten verfügbar sind. Es bleibt abzuwarten, inwiefern die Durchführungsverordnung für Hochwertige Datensätze der Europäischen Kommission die Entwicklung weiter vorantreibt. Mit LoRaWAN etabliert sich in einer zunehmenden Zahl von Kommunen eine digitale Infrastruktur zur kostengünstigen Übertragung von Sensordaten. Smarte Anwendungen, die auf dieser Infrastruktur basieren, leisten einen Beitrag zur Entwicklung von klimafreundlichen und resilienten Städten und Regionen.
