Diffusion von 5G-Campusnetzen in Deutschland

Abstract

Die Entwicklung von 5G-Campusnetzen ist ein evolutorischer Prozess, der noch in den Anfängen ist. Bisher gab es bereits mehr als 300 lokale Frequenzzuteilungen im Bereich 3,7 GHz (Stand: 15.03.2023). Nach unserer Kenntnis erfolgt der Einsatz der 5G-Campusnetze häufig jedoch noch nicht, oder wenn, nur sehr fokussiert auf spezifische Anwendungen im Realbetrieb, beispielsweise zur Lokalisierung von mobilen Geräten wie Staplern oder Minirobotern oder zur Kontrolle der Abnutzung von Fräsmaschinen. Überwiegend sind es somit Feld- und Testversuche, die durchgeführt werden. Ursächlich hierfür sind die hohen Kosten für die Errichtung eines 5G-Campusnetzes und derzeit noch fehlende Soft- und Hardware. Zudem besteht noch eine erhebliche Unsicherheit bei der Auslotung der Einsatzmöglichkeiten und einer anknüpfenden Realisierung. Die Bedeutung von 5G in der Anwendung für 5G-Campusnetze außerhalb des Massenmarktes wird mit dem jüngst verabschiedeten Release 17 und dem anstehenden Release 18 steigen.
