Abstract

Teilzeitarbeit wird weiter an Bedeutung gewinnen. Ob aus dem Wunsch nach mehr Freizeit oder dem Zwang zur Vereinbarkeit unterschiedlicher Zeitanforderungen heraus, immer mehr Menschen wählen Teilzeitarbeit. Ob zur Sicherung von Beschäftigung oder als attraktives Angebot an gesuchte Fachkräfte, Unternehmen werden mehr Teilzeitarbeit anbieten. In diesem Umfeld müssen sich betriebliche Interessenvertretungen schnell informieren können. Sie werden um Rat gefragt, wenn es um den Wechsel zwischen tariflicher Vollzeit- und Teilzeitarbeit geht, wenn Teilzeitarbeit gefördert werden soll oder wenn Benachteiligungen für Teilzeitbeschäftigte verhindert werden müssen. Die vorliegende Broschüre gibt einen kurzen Überblick über das Recht der Teilzeitarbeit, informiert über das neue Teilzeit- und Befristungsgesetz, weist auf Gestaltungserfordernisse und -möglichkeiten hin und widmet sich ausführlich dem Problem mittelbarer Diskriminierung in diesem Zusammenhang.
