Abstract

Nach der deutschen Wiedervereinigung vollzog sich in der ostdeutschen Landwirtschaft ein tiefgreifender Wandel. Dieser Prozess hatte existenzielle Folgen für die Beschäftigten und wurde von der Gewerkschaft Gartenbau, Land- und Forstwirtschaft (GGLF) begleitet, die später in der IG Bauen-Agrar-Umwelt (IG BAU) aufging. Bei der beruflichen Qualifizierung und sozialpolitischen Integration der Betroffenen spielten strukturpolitische Maßnahmen, ABS-Gesellschaften und das Förderwerk Land- und Forstwirtschaft eine zentrale Rolle. Diese Studie stellt den ostdeutschen Agrarsektor zu DDR-Zeiten und seine Transformation in den 1990er Jahren dar. Dabei analysiert sie die sozialen Auswirkungen des Umbruchs und die Bedeutung arbeitsmarktpolitischer Instrumente beim Übergang in die Marktwirtschaft.
