Gewerkschaftliche Konzepte für die ostdeutsche Transformation: Alternativen zur Wirtschaftspolitik der 1990er Jahre

Abstract

Nach der Friedlichen Revolution von 1989 setzte im Osten Deutschlands ein tiefgreifender Transformationsprozess von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft ein. Auch wenn die Mitwirkungsmöglichkeiten der Gewerkschaften beschränkt waren, waren sie wichtige Akteure in diesem Prozess. Zusammen mit den betrieblichen Interessenvertretungen forderten sie bei der Privatisierung der ehemals volkseigenen Betriebe eine soziale Komponente und Standortsicherung ein - Forderungen, die sie teilweise auch durchsetzen konnten. Trotz vieler Abstriche gegenüber ursprünglichen gewerkschaftlichen Konzepten war dies ein entscheidender Beitrag zur Stabilität der Gesellschaft und zur demokratischen Entwicklung.
