Abstract

Der Jahresabschluss ist für Betriebsräte und ArbeitnehmervertreterInnen im Aufsichtsrat eine der wichtigsten Informationsquellen zur wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung des Unternehmens. Zudem muss der Aufsichtsrat den Jahresabschluss auch prüfen und billigen (§§ 171f AktG). Für eine erfolgreiche Arbeit der Mitbestimmungsträger ist das Verständnis dieses Zahlenwerks daher eine notwendige Voraussetzung. Ziel dieser Arbeitshilfe soll es sein, diesen sowie allen anderen interessierten Personen einen Einblick in den Jahresabschluss (Bilanz, Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung, Anhang) sowie den Lagebericht von Kreditinstituten zu ermöglichen. Der Jahresabschluss von Kreditinstituten unterliegt zahlreichen Sonderregelungen, die den Bedingungen der Branche geschuldet sind. Daher kommen Leserinnen und Leser dieser Unterlagen mit allgemeinen Kenntnissen der HGB-Bilanzierung nicht sehr weit. Ziel dieser Arbeitshilfe ist es daher, auf Grundlagenkenntnissen über den HGB-Jahresabschluss aufbauend, das Verständnis des Jahresabschlusses (Bilanz, Gewinn- und Verlustrechnung, Anhang) und des Lageberichts von Kreditinstituten zu erleichtern.
