Olympische Spiele - noch zeitgemäß? Werte, Ziele, Wirklichkeit in multidisziplinärer Betrachtung

Abstract

Referentinnen und Referenten, die in Fragen der Olympischen Spiele, der Olympischen Idee, aber auch in Olympischen Problemen sachkundig und ausgewiesen sind, haben sich in einer Ringvorlesung an der Universität des Saarlandes einer Frage gewidmet: Sind Olympische Spiele noch zeitgemäß? Dabei wurden Ziele und Werte Olympischer Spiele mit der Realität gespiegelt. Aus unterschiedlichen Perspektiven wurden dabei auch durchaus unterschiedliche Antworten auf diese Frage von Historikern, Juristen, Ökonomen und Sportwissenschaftlern gegeben. Das Ergebnis dieser Suche nach Antworten wird in diesem Band vorgelegt und es wird nicht verwundern, dass diese Antworten so schillernd und vielschichtig ausfallen, wie die Olympischen Spiele und die Olympische Idee selbst.
